Privacy Policy
This explains what LAND//SCAN collects, why, and who we share it with. We collect only what's needed to run the alert service.
What we collect
- Account info: your name, email, and password (passwords are hashed by our auth provider — we never see them).
- Phone number: so we can text you matching listings.
- Your saved searches and the listing matches they generate.
- Notification preferences (real-time vs scheduled, quiet hours).
We do not store payment-card details — that's handled entirely by Stripe if/when you subscribe.
How we use it
To create your account, match listings to your searches, send you the SMS alerts you asked for, and operate and improve the service. We don't sell your data.
Who we share it with (service providers)
- Supabase — database & authentication.
- Twilio — delivers your SMS alerts (receives your phone number).
- Vercel — hosts the website.
- Stripe — payment processing (only if you subscribe later).
These providers process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy terms.
Text messages (SMS)
When you provide your mobile number and opt in at signup, we send recurring automated SMS property alerts for the searches you create. Message frequency varies with how many listings match your searches. Message & data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to cancel, or HELP for help.
We do not sell your phone number, and we do not share your mobile number or your SMS opt-in consent with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes. Your number is shared only with Twilio, our messaging provider, solely to deliver the alerts you requested.
Retention & your choices
We keep your data while your account is active. You can edit your details on your profile, delete searches anytime, reply STOP to halt texts, and request account deletion by emailing hello@land-scan.ca — we'll remove your personal data.
